I AIN'T SCARED: The Robinson J. Eikenberry Story  (DOCUMENTARY FEATURE In Production, USA.) Robinson J. Eikenberry was a gifted artist and music producer, talents that emerged at a young age. After Rob lost his father in high school, the artist inside erupted and creative expression through making art and music became his new ways of coping and expressing himself. He had the natural ability of writing lyrics and poetry and putting those words to music. He would often come up with spiritual musings now known as “Robinsonisms” and share them with all of his friends and family as if they were gifts full of wisdom and life lessons he was sprinkling around to better the world of those he cared most deeply about. Robinson's new life task then turned to becoming a great sound engineer and record producer where he could lift others up through their art. He turned his humble living space into a recording studio and began recording all of his musician friends. From then on, "Robinson's studio" was a spiritual safe haven where creativity through musical expression and experimentation with sound and audio. Using the best, latest recording and computer technology, Robinson prospered in this path and, to us, became “The Rick Rubin of Santa Barbara.” He went on to record hundreds and hundreds of singer-songwriters and all types of musicians over the course of the next 30 years. When anybody asks me personally about Robinson, I usually say something like this: "Anybody who's anybody that came out of the Santa Barbara music scene back when, (we’re talking in the 90’s and 2000’s) recorded with or by some kind of affiliation knows Robinson through one musical collaboration or another...” and that's just scratching the surface when I try and attempt to explain Robinson's reach in our community. To say he was one of the most innovative and talented music producers of our time would be an understatement. Robinson passed away of a sudden heart attack in July of 2017, but his legacy and contributions to the recording arts world live on.

I AIN'T SCARED is conceptually, a musical documentary that will offer an intimate, personal portrait of a spiritually enlightened yet tortured, artistic genius who spent every ounce of his energy helping others fulfill their dreams by making records and understanding the world  just a little bit better, together with him, one session at a time. As Robbie would put it, “What shall we create today? I ain’t scared.” (For more information on the making of this project and how you can contribute, please contact us at: robinsondocumentary@gmail.com)
